ANZAC Commemoration in Room 9

The students were very interested in learning about what ANZAC is all about and hearing each other's srories about great-grandads and great-great-grandads.  It is very important that these stories are passed on to keep the memories and respect for our fallen soldiers alive with this new generation.
Kathryn brought in some of Robbie's Navy medals for everyone to look at and Juno, who had researched ANZAC as part of her reading programme, shared a speech and some very old photos of her great-grandad Frank Hill.

Matthew also shared a poster he had produced about ANZAC and Ella brought in a very precious "Dead Man's Penny" that had been given to her family when her great, great, great uncle died in the First World War.
